I Ask For Help To Learn Things That Are Right

One of the most countercultural things we can teach our children in today's world is this: it's okay to ask for help.
We live in an age that glorifies self-sufficiency. Social media feeds us a constant stream of people who appear to have it all figured out. The message, whether spoken or not, is clear: weakness is to be hidden.
But God's Kingdom runs on a different economy.
When we teach children to ask for help — genuinely, humbly, without embarrassment — we are teaching them one of the most important life skills they will ever learn.
More than that, we are pointing them to God. Because at the heart of prayer is exactly this posture: 'Lord, I need help. I don't have all the answers. Teach me what is right.'
Today, encourage your child to ask a question they've been afraid to ask. Model the posture yourself. Let them see that even adults are still learning, still growing, still asking God to show them what is right.
